What is scalp micro pigmentation?
Scalp micro pigmentation other wise known as SMP is a non-surgical, cosmetic tattoo that gives you the look of a short hair cut on a bald head, or adds density to a thinning hair line with male pattern baldness. The procedure can also be used to conceal scars from hair transplants or most scaring related to hair loss, we can also treat hair loss through skin conditions like Alopecia. Scalp micropigmentation can be performed on all skin types and pigmentations with a wide variety of hairline styles including a "natural look" or "box cut with a fade".
The procedure
Scalp micro pigmentation, other wise known as SMP involves the delicate procedure of placing tiny micro pigments into the scalp to imitate the appearance of actual hair follicles. The pigment is only placed around 1.3mm - 1.5mm deep to the top layer of the dermis (layer of skin) using a tiny SMP specific needle, most of our clients feel little to no pain at all and describe the feeling as more of a discomfort, don't worry we are very gentle and precise. Your comfort is what matters!
Every client is different so the amount of sessions needed will depend on the individual, here at SMP studio we would recommend a minimum of two sessions to get the best results.
